Vindhyachal being India's largest power plant is also fulfilling its commitment via providing Electricity in more sustainable way. NTPC Vindhyachal is the 1st power plant of India who installed Flue Gas desulphurisation (FGD) system for producing flue gas with less emission of Sulphur to the environment. Continuing its commitment towards the environment, installation of FGD system is in progress for remaining 12 Units through M/s L&T.

Today on 29.03.2024, Vindhyachal has achieved another milestone by producing Gypsum from its newly installed FGD system in Unit-12 of 500MW in the gracious presence of ED Vindhyachal Shri E Satya Phani Kumar, CGM (O&M) Shri Sameer Sharma, GM (Project) Shri D K Vashishth and other senior official of NTPC and L&T.

It is expected that other Units of FGD will start in near future. Gypsum produce from these Units will be act as raw material for other manufacturing industries.
